AC Milan ran riot in Salzburg, securing a first win in the 2026/27 Europa League with a 4-0 victory at the Red Bull Arena, thanks to a stunning hat-trick from Alphadjo Cisse and a goal from Gonçalo Ramos. It was a night to remember for the Rossoneri, who responded to the opening defeat against Benfica with a performance full of quality, character and clinical finishing. Amorim’s side gradually took control of the game, creating numerous chances and finding the net consistently. Alfa was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick in a record-breaking performance that made him the youngest Italian player to score three goals in a single European club competition match.
Four goals, a clean sheet and three valuable points to get the European campaign back on track. AC Milan returned to winning ways with a confident display, showing encouraging signs both in its build-up play and management of key moments in the match. The victory provides a welcome boost and allows the Rossoneri to climb the league phase table, while also improving the side's goal difference. Back from Austria, attention now turns to Serie A, with Sunday’s 6:00 PM clash against Atalanta coming before their second consecutive European away trip, scheduled for Thursday at Bournemouth.

MATCH REPORT
AC Milan looked to take control of the game from the outset, despite Salzburg’s early pressure, which was kept at bay by a disciplined defence, marshalled by an impressive Tomori, making his first appearance of the season. In the 8th minute, Rabiot fired wide from a good position, before Cisse tested Zawieschitzky in the 12th minute and Hutchinson sent his effort over the bar a minute later. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Hutchinson delivered an inch-perfect cross for Cisse, who headed home to give the Rossoneri a 0-1 lead. AC Milan continued to press and came close to doubling its advantage in the 17th minute through Loftus-Cheek and Hutchinson, but the Austrian defence held firm. In the 25th minute, Mazurek tried his luck from distance but failed to hit the target. The Rossoneri struck again in the 32nd minute after a fine team move. Rabiot opened up the play for Bartesaghi, who teed up Cisse to fire home with his left foot and complete his brace. AC Milan went into half-time with a 2-0 lead after a first-half performance full of confidence and clinical finishing.
Amorim’s side resumed with the same intensity after the break and quickly added a third. Rabiot delivered the cross and Cisse completed a remarkable European hat-trick with another header. Maignan remained alert and made a crucial intervention off his line, while the Rossoneri continued to create chances. In the 68th minute, Modrić picked out Hutchinson with a sublime pass, and the winger came close to finding the net with his left foot, his effort narrowly missing the post. Shortly afterwards, Bartesaghi was denied by the Austrian goalkeeper, while Pulisic headed over from Hutchinson’s cross. The fourth goal arrived in the 72nd minute. Jashari won the ball back and played in Ramos, who fired home with his left foot to make it 4-0 with AC Milan’s first shot on target of the move. Late on, there was also time for Diawara to make his official debut, before the Rossoneri were reduced to ten men following Terracciano’s straight red card. The dismissal did nothing to change the outcome: AC Milan dominated in Salzburg, securing a convincing 4-0 victory and its first European win of the season.
