Como 1907 are competing in the Serie A Women's Cup for the first time after earning promotion under Selena Mazzantini. The Biancoblù have overhauled their squad during the summer, bringing in several high-profile international players, including Sofie Svava (from Lyon), Emilie Haavi (from Roma) and Agnese Bonfantini (from Fiorentina). After beginning their cup campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Juventus, the Lariane are now preparing for their second game in the competition.

Coach Mazzantini had this to say: "Matchday two pits us against AC Milan, a top-notch team with a strong squad accustomed to playing high-level matches. Matchday 2 of the Serie A Women's Cup will get underway on Saturday 29 August at 18:00 CEST with Juventus v Como Women, before AC Milan v Como 1907 completes the Group C schedule at 20:30 CEST. Three games will then kick off simultaneously at 18:00 CEST on Sunday 30 August: Inter v Napoli Women, Lazio v Parma and Roma v Sassuolo.
