Milan Primavera suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to Hellas Verona on Matchday 4 of the league. Two goals scored towards the end of each half, from Gardin and De Rossi, decided the game, with both players making the most of chances created during AC Milan's build-up play. A tough result for Renna's side, who showed determination despite the age difference between the two teams.
It is worth noting that Verona’s second goal came with a numerical advantage, as AC Milan were down to 10 men following Colombo’s second yellow card. The result brings our positive run to an end, following wins against Torino, Cesena and Juventus, and leaves us on seven points in the table. However, before the break for the youth international fixtures, the schedule gives us an immediate chance to bounce back: Roma will visit the PUMA House of Football on Sunday 20. Forza!

The hosts got off to a more aggressive start, but in the first ten minutes none of Hellas Verona's attempts caused debutant Pantelin any trouble. The game began to open up as the minutes went on. In the 15th minute Cullotta rose highest to meet a header but sent the ball just over. In the 26th minute a dangerous cross from the left by Tartaglia fell to Zaramella, who controlled the ball on the edge of the six-yard box but was unable to get a shot away. AC Milan grew into the game in terms of possession and threat, but a mistake while playing out from the back allowed Gardin to put Verona ahead in the 39th minute. The Rossoneri tried to respond before half-time through Domniței, but the last chance of the first-half belonged to Verona. In the 45th minute, Casagrande tried to catch Pantelin out with a left-footed effort from the edge of the box, but the ball went wide.
Zanaga came on for the Rossoneri at half-time, and they changed to a more attacking setup as they looked for an equalizer. After a more lively first half, the opening 15 minutes of the second half offered far fewer chances at both ends, with Verona controlling the tempo as they held on to their lead. Coach Renna also introduced Colombo and Dotta, who threatened from distance in the 70th minute. There was a scare in the 80th minute, when a Verona move ended with De Rossi firing from outside the box, but Pantelin saved it and then kept Intrabartolo's follow-up on the line. A great chance came in the 84th minute, when Cullotta produced an excellent turn and forced Borghi into a difficult save. On the counter, the Rossoneri were reduced to 10 men after Colombo was shown a second yellow card, and in the 89th minute Verona doubled their lead through De Rossi. The scoreline remained the same and after five minutes of added time, the match ended 2-0.
POST-MATCH STATEMENT
"There's a sense of regret, we were punished by two mistakes," said Head Coach Giovanni Renna after the game."The team put in a good performance and we came close to equalizing a few times, especially through Cullotta. Unfortunately, that's football, if you don't score, you get punished. Now our focus turns to Roma. It will be a great game in front of our home fans, and we'll look to make things difficult for our opponents."
