Ante Rebić was born in Spalato, Croatia on 21 September 1993. He played for both Vinjani and Imotski at youth level before making his professional debut with RNK Spalato in 2011. In 2013 he signed for Fiorentina but after just one season with the Viola he was loaned to RB Leipzig for the 2014/15 season and to Hellas Verona for the second half of the 2015/16 season.

His career took off after his move to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2016. He scored 25 goals and registered twelve assists in 100 appearances for the club over the course of three Bundesliga seasons. He also became a regular member of the Croatian national team (28 appearances, three goals) and played a key role in their run to the World Cup final in 2018. He arrived at AC Milan in the summer of 2019 and became the protagonist of an exciting season finale after a difficult start, scoring twelve goals in total.

He once again sealed his status as "the man of the return leg" in the 2020/21 season. He opened his account in the thumping pre-Christmas victory over Lazio, while he scored 10 goals (all in Serie A) during the second half of the season, proving decisive in sending the Rossoneri back into the Champions League. The icing on the cake was the three days in Turin in early May: First, his goal against Juventus which was chosen by the Rossoneri fans as the best of the season, then a hat-trick in the 7-0 win at Torino.
