Born in 1999, Brahim Díaz developed at Malaga, the club of his home city, before becoming part of the Manchester City Academy in 2013. After making his Premier League and Champions League debuts between the end of 2017 and the start of 2018, he returned to his homeland after being signed by Real Madrid in January 2019.

Despite strong competition for places, he scored two goals in the 21 appearances he made under Zinedine Zidane. Two-footed and an excellent dribbler, Díaz is adept at operating in tight spaces and can play in various attacking positions, even if he tends to prefer taking to the pitch as a central attacking midfielder. He was part of the Real Madrid side that won La Liga in 2019/20, although he only featured six times in the league. He was then loaned to AC Milan, where it did not take him long to leave his mark: he scored on his first start (and second Rossoneri appearance) in Crotone on 27 September 2020.

During his first year at AC Milan, Brahim was decisive in the closing stages of a season that saw the Diavolo return to the Champions League after a seven-year absence. Indeed, he produced a series of excellent performances and also found the net away to Juventus. He also made an important contribution in 2021/22, especially at the start of the season with his winning goals against Sampdoria and Spezia, scoring also against Liverpool at Anfield. As of June 2022, he has made 79 appearances and scored eleven goals for AC Milan in all competitions.
