Brahim Díaz, born in 1999, grew as a footballer in his hometown of Malaga before joining Manchester City's academy as a youngster in 2013. After making debuts in the Premier League and the Champions League between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, he returned to his homeland in January 2019, having been bought by Real Madrid.

Despite strong competition, he scored two goals in 21 appearances under the guidance of Zinedine Zidane. Two-footed and good at dribbling in tight spaces, he can play in different roles in attack, even if he tends to prefer the role of central attacking midfielder. He was part of the squad that won the 2019/20 La Liga, though he only made six league appearances. He was then loaned out to AC Milan, where he didn't take long to make his mark, scoring on his debut as a starter against Crotone on 27 September 2020, as well as his second appearance for the Rossoneri.

By the end of the season, he had scored seven goals (four in Serie A, three in Europa League) and provided four assists in 39 appearances. Especially towards the end of the season, his decisive contributions definitively helped bring the Rossoneri back to the Champions League.
