David Odogu was born in Berlin on 3 June 2006 to a family of Nigerian origin on his father's side. His first footballing experiences came with Steglitzer SC Südwest and, after one season at Union Berlin, he joined the Wolfsburg youth setup in 2020, where he stood out for his qualities as a modern central defender, with a strong physique and excellent ball-playing ability.

With the Lower Saxony club he made his professional debut in the 2024/25 season, totalling three appearances in the Bundesliga. He also made three first-team appearances in his first season at AC Milan, 2025/26, in addition to several outings with Milan Futuro, experiences that have supported his growth and adaptation to Italian football. Worth highlighting are his experiences with the Germany youth sides: David was part of the team that in 2023 won both the Under-17 European Championship in Hungary and the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia, and he is currently a member of the Germany Under-20s, confirming his status as one of the most interesting prospects in his country.
