From Crotone to AC Milan, and with a great story to tell. The Brazilian Junior Messias, who was born in Ipatinga in 1991, joined the Rossoneri on the last day of the 2021 summer transfer window following a long journey in the lower divisions. After being discovered by Ezio Rossi, he signed for fifth-tier Casale before moving to Serie D side Chieri. He then played Serie D and Serie C football with Gozzano, where he made his first steps in the professional game.
In January 2019, Crotone came calling: after helping the Squali achieve promotion from Serie B, he enjoyed an excellent season in Serie A, so much so that he was signed by AC Milan in the summer of 2021. A winger or attacking midfielder, Messias is a left-footer who is an excellent dribbler and particularly creative with the ball at his feet.
The 31-year-old's first season at AC Milan was a very successful one. His winning goal against Atlético in Madrid was undoubtedly his most memorable moment during a campaign that saw him score six times in 32 appearances in all competitions.
