MikeMaignan

Mike Maignan was born on July 3, 1995, in Cayenne (French Guiana) but grew up in Villiers-le-Bel, a small town just a few kilometres from Paris. At AC Milan since the summer of 2021, he is a goalkeeper with great personality, secure between the posts and with outstanding reflexes that have earned him a reputation as a penalty-saver.

His footballing journey began at Paris Saint-Germain, where he completed the entire youth-team pathway and eventually broke into the first team, when Laurent Blanc was manager and Salvatore Sirigu was the starting goalkeeper. His real professional debut came with Lille, where he stayed for six seasons, definitively establishing himself in 2020/21: a season in which he won Ligue 1 and stood out as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets among the top-5 European leagues.

His first year in the Rossonero shirt was also one to remember: in Pioli's title-winning campaign, Maignan collected 17 clean sheets (the best in the league), won the award for best goalkeeper in Serie A 2021/22 and earned a Ballon d'Or 2022 nomination. He became AC Milan captain during the 2024/25 season, and by June 2026 he had reached 204 appearances for the Rossoneri across all competitions, at the end of a season in which he chose to extend his stay in Rossonero colours until 2030.

He made his senior France debut in October 2020 in a friendly against Ukraine. With Les Bleus he was part of the squads at Euro 2020 and 2024 and at the 2026 World Cup, and won the Nations League in 2021, completing a journey that has seen him play for every French youth side from the Under-16s to the Under-21s. As of September 2026, he has 50 caps for France.
