At AC Milan since:2020

Pierre Kalulu was born in Lyon on 5 June 2000. As a schoolboy, he worked his way through the youth system at his hometown club, Olympique Lyon, but it was at AC Milan where he made his professional debut. His first breakthrough moment came in December 2020 when, in the space of six days, he got his first starts in the Europa League and in Serie A, capping it off with an equalising goal at Genoa.

He ended his first season with 18 appearances in all competitions and also made his debut with the French Under-21 side. But it was the 2021/22 season where Pierre really made his mark. At the start of the campaign, he was initially considered an alternative at right-back or, when needed, at left-back, but the turning point arrived in the second part of the season as he came into his own. After the injury to Simon Kjær, Head Coach Stefano Pioli called on Kalulu to take up a central defensive role partnering Romagnoli or Tomori, and Pierre rose to the challenge.

In the Scudetto-winning season, he made 37 appearances across all competitions, with the winning goal in the victory against Empoli and a sensational end to the season where, along with Tomori and Maignan, he was part of the backline that conceded just two goals in the last 11 games. His third year with the Rossoneri was one of continuity, with Pierre performing well in several roles and proving to be a reliable figure in defence. As of June 2023, Kalulu has made 101 appearances in the AC Milan shirt across all competitions.
