A left-footed player who possesses real pace, Samuel Chukwueze, who is also a fantastic dribbler and can play as an inverted winger, has established himself as one of the most interesting prospects out on the flank across Europe in the past few seasons. Born on 22 May 1999, the Nigerian, who developed at a few prestigious academies in his country, got to showcase his talent at the 2015 U17 World Cup in Chile, where his country triumphed. His understanding with Victor Osimhen attracted the attention of Villarreal, who decided to bring him to Spain in 2017.
He initially continued his development in the Spanish side's B team before making his debut for the first team in the Europa League in September 2018. It didn't take him long to bag his first goals in the Copa del Rey (against Almeria in his first match in the competition) and La Liga, where he found the net in his second appearance (against Rayo Vallecano). Season after season, Samuel continued to improve, going on to score a total of 37 goals in 207 appearances for Villarreal. He was part of the Yellow Submarine side who made history by beating Manchester United in the 2020/21 Europa League final, while he then displayed his qualities in the Champions League the following campaign, netting the goal that knocked out Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. He joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2023, and his first two seasons with AC Milan he scored eight goals in 66 appearances across all competitions.
As of July 2023, he's scored seven times in 46 matches for Nigeria, with whom he reached the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and the final in the 2023 edition.
