Samuele Ricci was born on 21 August 2001 in Pontedera and, after his first footballing experiences near his hometown, developed at the Empoli youth academy, standing out as a promising prospect also in the orbit of Italy's youth national teams. He moved into the First Team for good in 2019/20 and the following season established himself at a high level, proving decisive in the Tuscan club's return to Serie A in a campaign in which he also won the Manlio Scopigno Award as the best player of the Serie B season.
After six months in the top flight with Empoli (his debut on 21 August 2021, his first goal at the end of September), he moved to Torino in the winter transfer window, gradually becoming a focal point of the Granata midfield thanks to his elegance on the ball, his versatility in different roles and his ability to move both in pressing phases and into the opposition's empty spaces. His strong seasons in the Granata shirt earned him a call from AC Milan in the summer of 2025: his first Rossonero season ended with 34 total appearances and one goal, in Bergamo against Atalanta. Alongside his club career, he has enjoyed a rewarding Italy journey: after a European Final with the Under-17s and two European Championships with the Under-21s, in June 2022 he made his senior Italy debut, against Germany in the Nations League: by June 2026 he had 11 total caps with the Azzurri.
