Samuele Ricci was born on 21 August 2001 in Pontedera, and after his early footballing experiences near his hometown, he trained in Empoli's youth academy, standing out as a promising talent and earning recognition in Italy's youth national teams. He permanently joined the First Team in the 2019/20 season, and the following year, he established himself at a high level, playing a decisive role in Empoli's return to Serie A, a season in which he also won the Manlio Scopigno Award as Serie B's best player.

After six months in the top flight with Empoli - he made his Serie A debut on 21 August 2021 and scored his first goal at the end of September - he transferred to Torino during the winter transfer window, increasingly becoming a key figure in the Granata midfield thanks to his elegant ball control, positional versatility, and ability to contribute both in pressing phases and by exploiting spaces left open by opponents. In addition to his club career, he has also had a fulfilling journey with the Azzurri; following a European final with the Under-17s and two continental tournaments with the Under-21s, in June 2022, he made his senior debut against Germany in the Nations League, and today is a regular in the Azzurri squad.
