Having come through at FK Partizan, he made his first-team debut at just 17 years of age in a 3-0 win against Proleter Novi Sad on 23 February 2019. He went on to make eleven appearances in his first season and started in the cup final, which was one by Crvena Zvezda. He caught the eye of Monaco, who he joined in January 2020 before loan spells first at Cercle Brugge and then Basel. He would not return to his parent club, instead making the switch to Red Bull Salzburg in June 2022.

In Austria, he found gametime, confidence and form. Pavlović is a quick and aggressive defender, who is very gifted in the air due to his leap, which comes in handy in attack as well. In Salzburg, as well as proving himself more than able to play in a high defensive line, he gained plenty of experience in Champions League football. His first season with AC Milan ended with him recording two goals across 29 appearances, proving himself to be an asset in both a four-man and three-man defensive setup. As of June 2025, Strahinja has won 44 caps for Serbia and was a nailed on starter at the Euros in Germany, having already played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
