Tiémoué Bakayoko was born in Paris on 17 August 1994 and, after spells at a few Parisian clubs, he developed as a player in Rennes' youth setup before making his Ligue 1 debut with the same club in 2013. In 2014, he moved to AS Monaco, where he stayed for three seasons and became a French Champion in 2016/17, a campaign where his team also reached the Champions League semi-finals. On an individual level, he was named in the Champions League squad of the season in 2017.
His next move was to England and Chelsea, where, in a campaign of mixed fortunes, he scored three goals in 43 appearances in all competitions. After arriving on a loan deal, he first wore the AC Milan shirt in 2018/19, when he enjoyed a really solid season, playing 42 times across Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Europa League and Supercoppa Italiana. His performances were enough to win the affections of the Rossoneri faithful.
Another loan deal then followed as he signed again for AS Monaco for the 2019/20 campaign, before he then returned to Italy the following season after joining Napoli. In 2021/22, his second Rossoneri adventure began: as of June 2022, he's made 60 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan.
