Tommaso Pobega was born in Trieste on 15 July 1999 and initially developed as a player in his home city before becoming part of AC Milan's youth setup at the age of 14. A central midfielder who can also play as a mezzala, he possesses excellent physical strength and is also very good at breaking up play. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 after being loaned to Serie C side Ternana. It was undoubtedly a positive experience for him, as he scored three goals and provided three assists in 32 matches.
2019/20 saw him play Serie B football following a loan move to newly promoted Pordenone. He enjoyed another positive spell, even bagging a brace against Frosinone in his very first match in Italy's second tier. It was a season that saw him score six goals and provide four assists in 34 appearances. His climb up the divisions continued in 2020/21 as he joined Spezia and played in Serie A for the first time. In Liguria, he impressed with six goals in 20 league matches. The following campaign saw him make another loan move, this time to Torino, where he netted four times in 33 appearances before returning to AC Milan. In 2022/23, he played 28 times for the Rossoneri and found the net three times in all competitions.
Pobega's rise hasn't been limited to club level, with the midfielder also progressing on the international stage. After playing for Italy's U20 and U21 teams, he made his debut for the senior team on 4 June 2022 as the Azzurri faced Germany in the Nations League in Bologna.
