Suzanne Bakker

Suzanne Bakker started out in the youth set-ups of Apollo '68 and VV Reiger Boys before moving to FC Utrecht in 2007 where she would compete in the Dutch top division for women's football, the Vrouwen Eredivisie. She continued her playing career at ASV Wartburgia until 2014, picking up five appearances for the Netherlands Under-19 Women's National Team along the way.

Suzanne Bakker's coaching career began at ASV Wartburgia and continued in 2017/18, when she joined the Excelsior/Barendrecht staff as an assistant coach. The following season, 2018/19, she moved to the Ajax Vrouwen Talent Team, and in 2022 she became head coach of the Ajax first team. She won the Vrouwen Eredivisie in her first season in charge, and in 2023/24 she led the team to a second-place league finish and an impressive Women's Champions League run: Ajax advanced from a tough group with PSG, Bayern Munich and Roma (winning every home game) before falling to Chelsea in the Quarterfinals. She arrived at AC Milan in the summer of 2024, and in her first season she led the Rossonere to fifth place and a solid showing in the Poule Scudetto, marked by the growth of a young, up-and-coming squad. In her second season the Club held its own at a strong level (the high point being two wins over reigning champions Juventus) as part of a project built on training and developing young Italian and international players. In the summer of 2026 she signed a contract extension, committing to the Rossoneri for a third season.
