Christy Grimshaw was born on November 8, 1995, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and grew up playing for Deeside and Aberdeen, with whom she made her Scottish Premier League debut in 2013. In 2014 she moved to the United States to attend Barry University, playing in NCAA Division II and finishing her four years with 31 goals in 65 games. After college, she returned to Europe with Metz, scoring 2 goals in 13 appearances in a season cut short by Covid-19. She joined AC Milan in the summer of 2020 and immediately stood out in the Rossonere midfield, playing a decisive role with 2 goals in 20 games in the club's historic qualification for the Women's Champions League. Over the years she has become a cornerstone for the entire AC Milan community, from the locker room to the fans: she is the foreign player with the most appearances in AC Milan's history, and her performances in Italy also earned her a place in the Scotland national team (12 caps and 2 goals as of June 2025). She has been the Rossonere captain since the 2024/25 season, and after returning from a long injury she reached 100 appearances for AC Milan in the derby against Inter on April 25, 2025, becoming only the third player ever, and the first foreign player, to do so. By the end of the 2025/26 season, having also returned to the Scotland squad (17 official caps since her June 2021 debut), she had made 120 appearances and scored 17 goals for AC Milan.
