Martina Piemonte was born in Ravenna on 7 November 1997. She wasn't even 15 years old when she made her Serie A debut for Riviera di Romagna in September 2012, and she went on to make 29 appearances in two years for the team from Cervia. In 2014, she joined San Zaccaria. Her first season there was undoubtedly positive: she scored twelve times in the Italian top flight – her first goals in Serie A – in a campaign that finished with her team avoiding relegation after victory in the relegation play-off. In the summer of 2016, she signed for AGSM Verona, for whom she made her Champions League debut and scored eleven league goals across 19 matches in her one and only season there. In 2017, she moved abroad after joining Sevilla, where she found the net six times in 20 matches. Piemonte then wore the shirts of Roma, Betis and Fiorentina before arriving at AC Milan in December 2021. She made an immediate impact at the Rossonere, bagging five goals in 13 games. Thanks to her performances, Martina returned to the Italy setup after winning her first cap in June 2014, when she became the youngest player to debut for the Azzurre in a competitive match. She scored her first Italy goal in a UEFA competition against France at Euro 2022.
