Sara Thrige Andersen was born in Farsø, Denmark, on 15 May 1996 and initially developed as a player at her local team alongside her twin, Sofie. After experiences at Team Viborg and KoldingQ – both teams in the Danish top flight – she joined Fortuna Hjørring in the summer of 2017. She remained there for four years, winning the league twice and the Danish Women's Cup once. Furthermore, while at Fortuna, she took part in the Women's Champions League in 2018/19. She signed for AC Milan in the summer of 2021 and enjoyed an excellent first season at the Club, scoring twice and providing nine assists in 24 appearances. At international level, she made her Denmark debut in 2016 at the age of 20. As of June 2022, she's played 20 times for her country and has two goals to her name, both of which she scored during qualifying for the 2023 World Cup.
