Sara Thrige Andersen was born in Farsø, Denmark, on 15 May 1996 and initially developed as a player at her local team alongside her twin, Sofie. After experiences at Team Viborg and KoldingQ – both teams in the Danish top flight – she joined Fortuna Hjørring in the summer of 2017. She remained there for four years, winning the league twice and the Danish Women's Cup once. Furthermore, while at Fortuna, she took part in the Women's Champions League in 2018/19. She signed for AC Milan in the summer of 2021 and has enjoyed an excellent first two seasons at the Club, scoring four goals in 55 appearances in all competitions. At international level, she made her Denmark debut in 2016 at the age of 20. As of June 2023, she's played 27 times for her country and has two goals to her name, both of which she scored during qualifying for the 2023 World Cup.
