Brought to Europe by Bologna that picked him up in 1938 from Central of Montevideo, Héctor Puricelli immediately proved to be an infallible scorer. Supported by excellent midfielder Biavati, he collected an impressive 80 goals that made him win the title of top scorer twice, and draw the attention of Milan that he joined in 1945. Thanks to his spectacular acrobatic skills he conquered the crowds and the young fan Silvio Berlusconi, but he did not manage to win the league because of the Grande Torino. He took his revenge as coach on the Milan’s bench with his favourite player Schiaffino on the pitch and conquered the 1954/55 league title.
