Agile and quick goalkeeper, Luigi Antonio Compiani, known as ‘Dario’, was 24 years old when he left Cremonese to become the first Milan’s goalkeeper to play the new single round format of the championship. In the difficult years between the two world wars Milan was certainly not too strong, which allowed him to display his entire repertoire of dives, leaps and catches. In the last of his ten seasons with Milan, he was happy to coach his designated heir Mario Zorzan.
