Not just great but special too. The Rossonere’s last goal on the road in the league came from Sara Tamborini, for her first in Serie A. The 18-year-old, who was born in 2001 and is the youngest player in the squad, scored the goal to make it 4-0 away to Tavagnacco, marking a joyous moment for her and her career, not to mention the fine finish itself. She celebrated with her teammates on the pitch and those on the bench, overwhelmed by their excitement for this achievement.
When hard work pays off. A fitting reward for an incredible path of growth, with her efforts appreciated by the whole team. Following her debut at the end of 2019, she became a valuable asset to Coach Ganz’s side in 2020, then staking her claim to a spot in the starting line-up for almost every game. Trust paid off with quality on the pitch.
Tamborini isn’t the only young forward working her way up through the ranks. Sharing the climb is Miriam Longo. At AC Milan since the summer of 2018, she has kept her head down and kept working hard until she found her moment and form. The 20-year-old (born in 2000), has now made an important place for herself in the squad. Then she made history, opening the scoring in the Derby in the Coppa Italia round of 16 after just 17 seconds. The first player born in the year 2000, male or female, to score in the Milan Derby.
This is her only goal of the season so far, but she’ll be sure to be gunning for her next one with the usual force and determination. Miriam and Sara are great friends, and long may their climb to greatness together continue.
