Against Tavagnacco, just before the league season stopped, firstly due to the international break and then more crucially because of the Coronavirus emergency, the Rossonere set a record by winning five consecutive Serie A games for the first time in their history. It’s one of the most important stats of the season, but it’s certainly not the only positive stat that demonstrates the excellent journey of Coach Ganz’s team.
Also on that matchday 15 played at the Stadio Comunale, Sara Tamborini became the thirteenth different Rossonere goal scorer this season, which meant the team achieved another record as the side that has scored the most goals. Speaking of goals, no team has scored more goals in the last 30 minutes than the Rossonere’s 21. Moreover, AC Milan, alongside Fiorentina, are the team that have scored the most goals since the start of 2020 (17); and, together with Juventus, they’re the team that are yet to concede in the first 15 minutes of play.
These are the stats that have led to results and points, like those crucial ones picked up against Juve (2-2), Sassuolo (1-0), Roma (3-2), Orobica (1-0) and Inter (2-1): all in the dying minutes of the game, thanks to the team’s great spirit and never-say-die attitude. It’s often these details that will make the difference in the run for Champions League qualification.
When they return to the pitch, when everyone is safe, AC Milan will have a new statistical goal to try and achieve: to earn a second clean sheet in a row, something that has not been done by them in the league for more than a year. Another aim will be to concede fewer goals: they’ve already shipped eight since January, a sum that is too high and will need to be reduced in the climax of the season.
