In a season characterized by such an intense and compact schedule, it is inevitable to run into some bumps in the road. It happened to AC Milan Primavera in the away matches at Torino and Bologna, both ending in negative results. Without dwelling too much on the merits and the shortcomings of each match, it is already time for the Rossoneri to turn their attention to the next match against Empoli.
A prompt reaction came after the defeat against the Granata, with two consecutive wins against SPAL and Sassuolo: two games decided by the great goals of Olzer and Tonin. The fixture list now sees Giunti's team face three games in the space of a week: Empoli (14/2), Inter (17/2) and Sampdoria (21/2).
In such a delicate phase of the season, guidance from the most experienced players is essential. The 2001 generation, which we can define as the "old guard" of this Primavera side, are called upon to take the younger players by the hand and lead the way. A task that falls to the captain, Alessio Brambilla, but also to Riccardo Tonin and Giacomo Olzer, true benchmarks in the offensive department and decisive in the last two victories. In defence Nikolaos Michelis is now immovable from his central role; in midfield Antonio Mionić is ever present, and Marco Frigerio is slowly finding his best form, also making himself available to the first team.
From the restart to today, all have guaranteed high-level performances, often being decisive. Tiredness is a factor that will certainly be felt, but this is where real growth can be achieved: knowing how to manage energy, facing each game with the right mentality.
