The final verdict has almost extinguished the Scudetto dream, but it hasn't changed AC Milan's plans. For the Rossonere it is now time to accept the painful 4-0 loss at Vinovo and put it behind them, and use it as motivation. The season waits for no one and the coming weekend will see the first leg of the derby in the Semi-Finals of the Coppa Italia: what better opportunity could you ask for to make up for failings in the league?
Juventus have yet again shown themselves to be a perfect machine, not unbeatable but definitely superior. It's not a coincidence that they are at the top of the league with only wins to their name, or that they have been reigning champions since the 2017-18 season. Our girls, however, are the only team to 'come close' to the league leaders, always putting them under pressure. In Serie A, they currently stand at 13 victories and two defeats, 35 goals scored and 11 conceded. They are extraordinary numbers for Ganz's side.
The objectives haven't changed. The most important thing is to maintain our position in second place to achieve a historic qualification for the next Champions League. Last weekend Sassuolo reduced the gap to five points, and the league is still yet to experience its crucial phase: especially in May, right at the season's ebb, when the Rossonere are scheduled to play first Roma away, then Fiorentina at home, followed by Sassuolo away.
Now Inter, who we will be facing off against three times in the space of a month: in the Coppa Italia (14 March and 24 April) and in the Serie A (28 March). So far, the derby has always seen Milan painted red and black: AC Milan boast five victories in five games against the Nerazzurre. The sixth, on Sunday at 12:30 at the Stadio Breda in Sesto San Giovanni, should give them a new boost to find their feet again and make a comeback.
