Home standings: The Rossoneri are fifth with 19 points from ten games, behind only Roma, Sampdoria, Inter and Juventus. A more than sufficient home record, covering almost 68% of the total points scored by Coach Giunti's team in the league. Having already mentioned the 'Vismara factor' a few weeks ago, six of the team’s eight wins this season have come within friendly walls.
Away standings: Here lies the sorry point, as the Rossoneri have the third-worst away record in the league. Nine points from ten games, with only two victories, against Cagliari at the start of the season, and against Lazio in the first reappearance after the very long stop. Away from Vismara, therefore, the Rossoneri struggle far too much, despite the signs of growth evidenced in the last three away matches: three consecutive draws against Genoa, Atalanta and Sassuolo. The objective of reaching the playoffs inevitably relies on a greater record away from home, starting with the next two matches against Empoli (2 May at 10:30 CEST) and SPAL (15 May at 11:00 CEST).
Another statistic worth pointing out is the one that underlines the difference between goals scored and goals conceded. On a defensive level, AC Milan have the third-best defence in the league, with 20 goals conceded, on par with SPAL. Only Inter (15) and Roma (19) have a greater record.
On the other hand, the number of goals scored is inversely opposite. The Rossoneri have scored 21 goals this season in Primavera 1, putting them in 14th for goals scored, the third-worst in the league, and quite far from the top positions. The high number of unavailable players may be a reason for this, with the starting being rotated on several occasions. However, with the return of Olzer (7 goals), Coach Giunti can now find a fixed target man ahead of the season’s grand finale.
