The Rossoneri recorded a good draw against Empoli, one of the in-form sides in Primavera 1, their fourth in a row away from home after those against Genoa, Atalanta and Sassuolo. It was a good sign for AC Milan, who were without Mionić, El Hilali, Michelis, Tonin, Brambilla, Stanga, Nasti and Tahar through injury or suspension. Andrea Capone did start in Tuscany after being out since 3 October.
Filì and Robotti had a chance to play from minute 1, and Enrico Di Gesù returned to the starting eleven. Against a strong Empoli team (3 wins in their last 4) and in spite of this crisis, the Rossoneri Primavera showed a lot of identity and a great attitude to play in spite of these absences. No fear, no speculation, always looking for quality.
In the first half, Olzer scored his eighth goal of the season. Giacomo scored in his second consecutive game after bagging against Sassuolo and showed that he can be decisive. Now, Coach Giunti's boys go into a run of three tricky games, in which they'll need to take as many points as possible: Lazio and Bologna at home, SPAL away.
AC Milan need to continue this good run - just one defeat in their last eight games (undeservedly, against Juve) - if they are to have a hope of making it to the playoffs, which are now just two points away. The positive signs and time to recover are there.
