PRIMAVERA, IT'S TIME FOR ANALYSIS

Saturday's match against Sassuolo is the last game of an exhausting but exciting season

The last fixture of the year is just around the corner (on Saturday at 13:00 CEST at home against Sassuolo) and for the Rossoneri Primavera, it's time for the first assessments of the season. Avoiding relegation came with two games to spare at the end of an extremely positive phase for the team led by Ignazio Abate, in his first season as a coach in this category.

Six positive results in a row, four victories and two draws, have pushed the Rossoneri U19 away from the drop zone right at the most delicate moment. The Rossoneri group, fresh from elimination in the Final Four Semifinal of the Youth League, found the strength and maturity to react in the best way to a negative moment.

"They will be difficult matches and we absolutely must rescue ourselves," said Abate after the semi-final loss to Hajduk Split in Geneva. Despite a far from easy schedule (Lecce, Atalanta, Napoli, Inter, Verona and Juventus), the task was completed with time to spare.

The latest defeat against Juventus, which was harder to take in terms of the scoreline than how we played, does not undermine the great work done over the last few weeks and the whole year. This season will carry with it the memory of a group that is very young for the average of its category, that has performed well between two high-level competitions such as the league and the Youth League. And which is ready to strive for other great goals in the coming season.
