France played out a draw with Austria in Vienna yesterday: it finished 1-1 at the Ernst Happel Stadion, with Mbappé scoring a late equaliser following Weimann’s opener for the hosts. Theo Hernández started out on the left flank and played the full 90 minutes after being rested against Croatia. Meanwhile, Mike Maignan, who took Lloris’ place between the sticks in Les Bleus’ previous match, returned to the bench.
France’s situation has become slightly more complicated in Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League: Didier Deschamps’ side, who won the last edition of the competition, sit bottom on two points after two draws and a defeat. With three matchdays still to go, Denmark are leading the way thanks to their six-point haul, while Austria and Croatia both have four points.
