PULISIC'S USA COME UNSTUCK AGAINST PANAMA

90 minutes for Christian and a place on the bench for Musah in the 2-1 defeat with ten men on matchday 2

The USA's path in the 2024 Copa América has become that bit more complicated. Weah's sending off after just 18 minutes of play messed up the plans of the Stars and Stripes side, who were beaten 2-1 by Panama on matchday 2 in Group C. Despite the one-man disadvantage, Balogun's superb left-footed finish broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, but Panama fought back through Blackman in the 26th minute and Fajardo’s winner in the 83rd minute.

An thrilling ending saw both teams finish with ten men, following Carrasquilla’s nasty challenge on Christian Pulisic in the 88th minute, but the Americans were unable to find an equaliser. Overall, it was a positive performance by Chris and who now has special attention placed on him by the opposition, while Yunus Musah was not involved. The result rebalances the group up, led by Uruguay - victorious 5-0 over Bolivia - with the USA and Panama tied on three points ahead of the last round of games.
