FRANCE AND PORTUGAL TO MEET IN QUARTER‑FINALS

As predicted, France and Portugal are through to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals, also thanks to the contribution of three Rossoneri players. In Düsseldorf, Les Bleus ran out 1-0 winners over Belgium thanks to an own goal from Vertonghen five minutes from time. There were positive displays from Mike Maignan and Theo Hernández, who both played the entire game and were among the best performers for Deschamps' side. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud remained on the bench. As for Portugal, they needed penalties to beat Slovenia after the game in Frankfurt finished 0-0 after extra time.
