It was an evening to remember for Tijjani Reijnders, who took centre stage in the Netherlands’ 5-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina on matchday 1 in Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League. Our number 14 hit the bar with the score at 1-1 before making it 2-1 with some fine individual play that ended with a precise left-footed strike. Then, at the start of the second half, he set Gakpo up for the Oranje’s third of the day. The Netherlands and Reijnders thus made a fantastic start. In the other competitive match of the evening, Chukwueze’s Nigeria beat Benin in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. It was an excellent performance from Sammy, who played for 63 minutes and was constantly involved in the Super Eagles’ attacking play.

Pulisic and Musah also took to the pitch as the USA lost 2-1 to Canada in a friendly in Kansas City. Chris played the full 90 minutes, while Yunus was replaced by Wright in the 71st minute. At youth level, Italy U19s came away with a victory from their second match at the international friendly tournament they’re currently involved in: after their 2-2 draw with England, the Azzurrini beat Germany 2-1. Diego Sia was once again decisive, coming on in the 55th minute and scoring on the 72-minute mark. Italy were reduced to ten men after 17 minutes but managed to stay in the game and win it. In addition to Diego, two other Rossoneri took to the pitch: Bakoune and Sala were both selected in the starting line-up by Head Coach Bollini. Vittorio Magni and Mattia Liberali didn’t play.
