DEBUT FOR GIMENEZ, MEXICO WIN AGAIN AND ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND

El Tricolor edge past South Korea 1-0, while Switzerland cruise to a comfortable win

Ten minutes plus stoppage time for Santiago Gimenez, in the second matchday of Group A at the 2026 World Cup. Co-hosts Mexico, playing in Guadalajara, beat South Korea 1-0 thanks to Romo's goal, maintaining a perfect record and qualifying for the Round of 32. Our striker came on in the final stages, replacing Raúl Jiménez, and making his official tournament debut. Ardon Jashari, however, did not feature in Switzerland's convincing 4-1 win over Bosnia. The Swiss move onto four points, level with Canada at the top of Group B.
