MILAN FUTURO PEGGED BACK BY BRUSAPORTO: 1-1

Siani's late penalty cancels out Sia's opener: it ends all square

Today's match between Milan Futuro and Brusaporto finished 1-1, with the Rossoneri missing the chance to extend their home winning run. Diego Sia opened the scoring in the first half - his fourth league goal of the campaign - before the visitors equalised late on with a penalty from Siani. A point apiece, then, which is probably a fair reflection of a game in which the two sides were evenly matched. Still, the Rossoneri will have some regrets after coming close to another big result against one of the top teams in the table.

A point that keeps Massimo Oddo's side moving in the table - they remain in the playoff places - and also helps the Bergamo outfit, who sit three points off first place, now held by Folgore Caratese after ChievoVerona’s home defeat to Varesina. Our youngsters have wrapped up a demanding week on a positive note, with three matches squeezed in due to the rearranged fixture against Real Calepina. The Rossoneri will be back in action at 14:30 CET on Sunday 7 December, when they are scheduled to face Varesina away from home. Keep pushing, lads!

MATCH REPORT
The visitors started the brighter, with a convincing opening spell that saw Torriani pull off two good saves from Seck (11') and Martini (14'). Once the first quarter of an hour had passed, the Rossoneri grew into the game and, after a harmless effort from Eletu, opened the scoring in the 24th minute: Cappelletti led a counter-attack and whipped in a low cross for Sia, who fired home his fourth goal of the season. The goal opened things up for Milan Futuro, who came close to doubling their lead soon afterwards through Traorè and Duțu. Otherwise, there was a lack of goalmouth action before the break, with Oddo’s side - the Rossoneri coach was suspended, so assistant Donatelli took charge in the dugout - keeping control of the game without much trouble, helped by an especially lively Cappelletti down the right.

The second half started at a slow pace, and a triple change for the Rossoneri - Branca, Karaca and Magrassi coming on - did little to alter the rhythm, while the visitors caused a scare through Martini in the 58th minute. Milan Futuro tried to take control and nearly doubled their lead in the 72nd minute, but Taramelli kept out Eletu's deflected free-kick. The match turned in the 85th minute, after a couple of Brusaporto attempts had been snuffed out by Duțu and his teammates: a foul by Karaca in the box gave the visitors a penalty, which Siani calmly converted, sending Torriani the wrong way. In stoppage time, there was one chance apiece, but the score remained unchanged: it finished 1-1 in Solbiate Arno.
