MILAN FUTURO END WITH A WIN: PLAY-OFFS NEXT

The Rossoneri beat Vogherese on the final day of the regular season

It was a good afternoon for Milan Futuro in their final game in Group B of Serie A. The Rossoneri ran out 10-1 winners against a struggling Vogherese side, having put it to bed in the first 45 minutes. They end the season in fourth position. There's very little to say about proceedings at the Chinetti, after Oddo's men opened the scoring through Pagliei's first goal (a well-crafted finish) after just 13 minutes. On matchday 34, there were also first goals for a Primavera stalwart in Nirash Perera and the youngster Luca Menon, born in 2009 and part of the Under-17s squad.

We also had an own-goal by Russo, and finished from that man Traorè, the returning Balentien, and the two veterans Branca and Magrassi, the latter of whom netted a hat-trick. The win was dedicated to Mauro Tassotti, to whom the players paid homage before the game, after he had an operation in recent days. The regular season is now done, as the Rossoneri finished in fourth place, with 16 wins and 8 draws, which sees them make it to the play-offs. It's a prestigious match-up too, as the Rossoneri will travel to Verona to take on Chievo, who we've beaten twice this season, on Sunday 10 May at 15:00 CEST.

MATCH REPORT
All the action was in one half of the field, right from the outset. After various chances in the first ten minutes, we opened the scoring from a corner, which Pagliei volleyed home with a backheel (13'). It was 2-0 just five minutes later, as Magrassi converted from Cappelletti's cross. The third for the Rossoneri came in the 23rd minute, as Russo deflected another Cappelletti cross into his own net. After a couple of spurned chances by Traorè, the Rossoneri made it four in the 39th minute, Branca firing in from outside the area. In stoppage time, Perera's late run led to him netting the hosts' fifth (first goal of the season for him) - Cappelletti with his third assist.

The second half began and, in the 51st minute, Magrassi punished Selvaggio's mistake to make it 6-0. Four minutes later, Menon netted his first goal for Milan Futuro, Magrassi with the assist. Magrassi then made it a hat-trick with a good finish in a tight space (59'). In the 72nd minute, Balentien got back on the scoresheet with a brilliant solo goal. The guests then scored a (beautiful) goal through Zito with an unstoppable shot from outside the box (79'). Late on, Traorè added another for the hosts, scoring in the 86th minute after having hit the bar.
