Verona continues to be a happy hunting ground for Milan Futuro. Following the victory there last season, they returned from Veneto with all three points once again after matchday eight of the Serie D season. Against Chievo, Sergio Navarro’s side claimed a 2-1 victory, bouncing back from their home defeat to Rovato thanks to goals from Levis Asanji a superb backheel finish, and Alessandro Bonomi, who struck late on to restore Milan Futuro’s lead after Minessi had briefly equalized. The goal was particularly special for 2006-born Bonomi as he scored after 525 days out, following a lengthy recovery from the injury he suffered in August 2025.
It was a hugely important result for the continued development of the young Rossoneri, particularly given the quality of their opponents. Before this match, Chievo tipped to be one of the leading contenders in Group B, had won every home game, scoring ten goals and conceding just one across four matches. This victory was all the more valuable because Milan Futuro showed real character, managing the different phases of the game while demonstrating their quality and the effectiveness of the daily work carried out at Milanello. The result provides a major confidence boost ahead of the upcoming fixtures, starting with matchday nine on Sunday, October 25th, when Milan Futuro host Club Milano at the Chinetti.

MATCH REPORT
The hosts created the first chance after just 40 seconds, but Vuthaj failed to hit the target from close range. In the 5th minute, Minessi forced a save from Pittarella before Carannante fired over the crossbar. After those early opportunities, the tempo dropped. In the 17th minute, Perera tested Arlanch with a low left-footed shot from the edge of the box, but the goalkeeper gathered comfortably. Milan Futuro then struck out of nowhere. Borsani burst forward down the left and delivered the ball into the middle, where Asanji produced an incredible, perfectly executed backheel to beat Arlanch. Chievo looked to respond, with Carannante’s effort narrowly missing the target in the 31st minute, followed shortly afterwards by another attempt from Trillò that also came to nothing. Perera tried his luck again in the 34th minute, this time with a header, but sent the ball wide. In the 38th minute, Chievo equalised: Vuthaj laid the ball off for Minessi, who made no mistake in front of Pittarella. Just before half-time, Cissè cleared a dangerous Carannante header off the line, with the crossbar also coming to Milan Futuro’s rescue following a corner.
Carannante missed a great chance immediately after the break, firing wide with his left foot from a good position in the 49th minute. Sala responded from distance a minute later, but Arlanch saved. Vuthaj then tried his luck from a tight angle, only for Pittarella to produce an excellent punch. The hosts continued to threaten through Carannante and Salvi, but Cissè and Pittarella dealt with their efforts. Milan Futuro tried to turn the tide with help from the substitutes. Borsani nearly found the top corner in the 63rd minute, before Ossola and Sala made their mark. In the 73rd minute, Sala unleashed a powerful effort, but Arlanch produced an outstanding save to deny him. One substitute who made a decisive impact was Bonomi. In the 79th minute, he drove forward and forced Bane into a foul from behind, earning the Chievo defender a red card. The hosts were down a man, and after several minutes of pressure, Milan Futuro found a deserved 2-1 winner in the 85th minute. Plazzotta shot from outside the box and Arlanch parried the effort before Bonomi reacted quickest to the rebound to tap it home. Chievo’s attempts to find another equaliser came to nothing during a lengthy period of added time. There was also a debut for 2010-born Borsa. The final whistle sounded, Milan Futuro had the victory!
POST-MATCH STATEMENT
"I'm absolutely delighted", said match-winner Alessandro Bonomi at the final whistle. "I'm especially happy because this goal secured a win on a very difficult pitch. They're a very strong side, and this was a result we needed mentally as well, coming off the back of a defeat. It's great to have scored, but I'm even happier about the result. Getting back on the scoresheet is an amazing feeling, I couldn't wait to do it again. We want to put in lots of great team performances."
