BOBAN: "WE NEED TO STAY GROUNDED AS WE DREAM"

It was Zvonimir Boban who opened the press conference to present Coach Giampaolo. This is what the Rossoneri's Chief Football Officer had to say:

THE COACH
"I'd like to thank everybody for being here to accompany this new adventure we're about to embark on, one which we feel could be great. The decision to hire Marco Giampaolo was easy and was made quickly. From a footballing perspective, it was also logical. I've been following him for years, he always offers something different through a good brand of football, something which is a hallmark of AC Milan's history. This is what our fans want to see, as do we. Obviously, you need to pick up results through the game you play. We're convinced of the choice we've made, a great deal of harmony exists."

HIS FEELINGS AT THIS EARLY STAGE
"I'm very happy to be here again at my Club and in my colours. When I received the call from Paolo, and with Ivan Gazidis being someone I already knew, it was an easy decision for me to make – it didn't take a lot of time. Together with Maldini, discussions took place about the new Coach and Giampaolo's name came up. We then spoke to Ivan and all of us were unanimous in our thoughts."

TRANSFER MARKET
"We're working hard. I have accompanied and assisted both Ricky and Paolo. Without wanting to boast, once I watch a player play it doesn't take a lot for me to understand their qualities. The Coach hasn't made too many requests: the more quality there is, the better it is for everybody."

"It's not easy to get your hands on players of his standing, it's currently impossible. The aim is to bring high-quality players to AC Milan, not just youngsters. Targeted choices will need to be made, but the transfer market lasts a long time. We're convinced that we'll do well."
