He arrived on 2 September as the Rossoneri's final signing of the summer transfer window and then he went away on international duty with Croatia. This week, he's taken part in his first training sessions at Milanello. Two days before AC Milan's trip to Verona to face Hellas, Ante Rebić introduced himself to the Rossoneri's fans live on the AC Milan Official App and Facebook. This is what he had to say:
THE CLUB
"I already knew a lot about AC Milan and its history, Boban was the first person I talked to about the Club and he gave me a few tips. For me, it's a dream to be here and I would like to thank everyone. I've already been involved in training and my objective is to do well this season."
RETURN TO ITALY
"When I arrived in Italy for the first time (at Fiorentina), I was very young and didn't have a lot of experience. My time at Frankfurt helped me grow and show my qualities, qualities which I now hope to demonstrate at AC Milan. I was able to develop a lot in Germany thanks to the last coach I had too. I'm more mature now and feel ready for the challenges that await me at AC Milan."
THE LEAGUE: VERONA V AC MILAN
"I feel good. I've played for Eintracht and now also for Croatia this season, meaning I'm ready to take to the pitch on Sunday. I'm available to Coach Giampaolo, he'll be the one who decides. Competing for places with great players is a challenge and something that will help me to grow."
AC MILAN V INTER
"On the day of the derby I turn 26, I want to win it. I never spoke to Inter on a personal level. When there was the possibility of coming to AC Milan I spoke with my father and never had any doubts."
PRAISE FROM VAN BASTEN
"Van Basten referred to me as a hard bone and this is how I felt at my former club: tough. I think that this attitude can help me a lot, just as much for AC Milan as my National Team."
COACH GIAMPAOLO
"I don't know Coach Giampaolo but before coming here I'd heard plenty of positive things about him, also from Boban. The impression I've had of him during these first few days together has been positive."
THE CHOICE TO WEAR THE NO. 18 SHIRT
"I would have chosen the number 4 but it's already been taken. This is why I went for the number 18 shirt, the same one I wear when I play for Croatia."
