FONSECA: "I EXPECT AC MILAN TO PLAY DIFFERENTLY"

The Rossoneri are ready to head to the capital with plenty of desire to put the first two matchdays behind them. August will finish with Lazio v AC Milan, a big clash and an important one for both sides. Coach Paulo Fonseca previewed the showdown in his pre-match press conference at Milanello:  

POOR START
"We know we've not started well and we know where we can improve. We've had a good week in training; we're united and we understand what we need to improve. I expect AC Milan to play differently in Rome. We spoke about the Parma game and we're all on the same wavelength. I don't like to make excuses; I'm here to find solutions and that's what I've done this week. Let's hope we're on the right track."

IMPROVEMENTS
"What I thought after the game is what I still think now. It's easy to see what we need to improve. I don't want to single out any one problem. I'll never discuss my players in public; I'll do that individually with them, and I've spoken to them all this week. I don't expect there to be positivity when we lose but any improvements and changes that we make, we'll do them of our own accord and not because of any criticism."

PLAYERS AVAILABLE
"I won't speak about players that aren't here; Morata is unavailable for Lazio, as is Jović who has a back problem. The centre-forwards we have available are Okafor and Camarda. Bartesaghi, Cuenca and Zeroli will also travel with us to Rome."

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW
"I have a lot of other things to focus on before the Champions League, but I like this new format because it increases the chances for big ties. The draw was very even; we'll play against Liverpool, Real and Leverkusen, who are strong sides."

PLANS AND CONFIDENCE
"In pre-season, we got close to my way of playing football. I have the same level of confidence that I had on day one and these two games won't dampen our ambitions of being the team that we want to be. All of the players have shown commitment to playing football my way; I have no doubt about that."
