ALLEGRI: "HERE WITH THE AMBITION TO AIM FOR THE VERY BEST"

Here we are. Massimiliano Allegri held his first press conference as the new Head Coach of the Rossoneri. After eleven years, the man who won us our 18th Scudetto is ready to write new chapters in the Milanista history books. 

IGLI TARE'S INTRODUCTION
"I would like to thank the boss and his staff for the enthusiasm that they have brought at the start of this new adventure. Bringing him here was a decision shared with the Club, he is an important figure who will bring experience and a winning mentality".

HIS RETURN TO MILAN
"It is a pleasure to be here, we are beginning this adventure that we would like to take great things from. To get great results we must all work in the same direction, taking responsibility, everyday we share these dynamics with the director and the club. I am happy and enthusiastic, at AC Milan I have met some old faces and some new ones, this is important motivation. AC Milan is a club that I am very attached to, I won my first Scudetto here. When I got the call from Tare and Furlani, I met them straight away and in an hour we decided to begin this adventure together. I am happy and excited to start".

THE CONDITIONS
"Wins come from the club, there should be one effort to go in the same direction, supporting the team. I met the owner, the roles are clear, which is the most important thing. AC Milan has a great team, I am starting to get to know the players and their values. The director is monitoring the situations but what's important is being in the best way possible for the 31st August. The first six months are important for creating bases to get ready for March, when everything in the season is decided. On 17 August, we will already have an important commitment in the Coppa Italia".

THE GOALS
"We are beginning to train and we need to start the season with enthusiasm, passion, determination and a sense of responsibility. We must create the conditions to reach our objectives at the end of the year: the first goal is to get back in the Champions League, in March we must be in this position. We can only get there with work and improving everything, and I do believe. We will try to reach the best possible results, this must be the goal, never being satisfied".

EIGHTH PLACE
"It is difficult finding explanations in football and it isn't down to me to say what happened last year. Today a new season is starting and we must focus on this, AC Milan won a trophy, they played in the Coppa Italia final and they played some great games. There's no need for a revolution, we must work off the good things done, then it's up to me to make the squad as strong as possible. We will need great dedication in daily work".

HOW TO START AGAIN
"Director Tare and the club are monitoring the market. The outgoings have been revealed, Theo made a different choice and I wish him the very best. Now I have 25 players that I am happy with. Things are moving little by little, on 17 August we must be ready for the Coppa Italia as it is very important".

THE JOURNEY
"I can say that at AC Milan everyone must strive for the best results, and you must work with this conviction. At the moment making claims won't help, everyone within the club must remain professional, responsible and secure. The league doesn't lie, every day you must work and every Sunday you must fight for the three points. We must get in the best position for the final months from March onwards".

MAIGNAN AND LEÃO
"Mike is one of the best keepers in Europe, I am happy that he has decided to stay and he will be the team captain. Rafa is an extraordinary player and he will have a great season, he is maturing well. I think he is more responsible, I met him this morning and we spoke, he has are all the conditions to do well".

THE MIDFIELD
"Modrić will arrive in August, he is an extraordinary player. As well as him in midfield, we will have Ricci, Loftus-Cheek (who scored 12 two years ago), Fofana, Bondo, Musah. They are great players, we will play as a three and I will select them based on their individual traits".

THE DEFENCE
"In the last 20 years, only one time did I miss out on not having the best defence. A great team scores 60-80 goals a season, but if you concede 40 you won't be in the top four. We have four different centre-backs, all with room for improvement. Then we have interesting young players like Bartesaghi and Jiménez, who can play full-back. I am happy".

THE FANS' MOOD
"The only way to regain the fans' faith is by working responsibly and getting results which are the most important thing in football. First we must become a team, and then the results will come. The fans will have to give us a hand, we absolutely need them".
