ALLEGRI: "WE MUST IMPROVE DEFENSIVELY"

Back to league action, back to San Siro to end 2025 together. We host Hellas Verona on Serie A matchday 17, at 12:30 CET. On the eve of the match, Coach Allegri spoke in is press conference (live on the AC Milan Official App and Milan TV). Here are his main points: 

AHEAD OF AC MILAN V HELLAS VERONA
"There are important points up for grabs, we'll need to put in an organised performance and be patient. Verona are a tough team to face, they have quick players and attack well: we'll need to be solid at the back".

THE TEAM
"We need to improve at the back, we have to be tougher, we've lacked something at the back recently. Before, we went ahead, now we're finding ourselves going behind first: we have to buck this trend. We've got some important months coming up, we'll have three matches at home and six away: we'll need focus, taking things one step at a time. Qualifying for the Champions League is our objective, but it's not simple. The fans have always been by our side".

INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS
"Nkunku has all of the qualities needed to do well, he'll have another chance; sometimes, certain players need more time, also because of their character: we believe in him and we're expecting this from him. The league is also difficult to adapt to. Leão is not available, he's not recovered from his muscular problem yet. Füllkrug has arrived happy and ready to go; he's begun working and will need to build up his fitness, he'll be with us in Cagliari. Gabbia is out but is recovering, we'll see about Cagliari but if not, he'll be there for Genoa. Fofana is doing well, he needs to have the desire to improve. Jashari was out for a while, he can only improve. Ricci is a player we can trust in and an intelligent guy, he cares a lot about wearing the AC Milan shirt. I see Tomori as a wide centre-back, De Winter has the characteristics to play in the middle".
