ALLEGRI: "IMPORTANT TO READ THE MATCH WELL"

The Rossoneri's busy run of matches continues with our final fixture at San Siro this month. On Serie A matchday 21, AC Milan host Lecce at 20:45 CET on Sunday 18 January. Before the game, Massimiliano Allegri held pre-match press conference, beginning with some words for Rocco Commisso: "My thoughts are with the Commisso family. Football has lost a sports enthusiast who contributed so much to Fiorentina. Sincere condolences."

LECCE
"Lecce come into this match on the back of two excellent performances against Parma and Inter, but the results haven't reflected what they've shown in terms of work rate and defensive organisation. For us, it'll be an important game because we need to build on the good win against Como. We'll need focus, compactness, and to be alert to their pace. We mustn't rush; good technique and a solid defensive performance will be key to securing a positive result."

INJURY UPDATE
"Pavlović will most likely miss the match, as until yesterday he wasn't able to head the ball due to his stitches. Gimenez is still out, but the others are more or less all available. There could be some changes tomorrow, but the important thing is that the team shows the right spirit to achieve our goal. Today, with the staff, we'll assess our situation and determine who is in the best physical condition to play, knowing that our substitutes could be decisive."

"Maignan is an important player: he's AC Milan's captain and, above all, a player of international calibre. I think the saves he makes are normal for him, and that's what makes him a great player. Leão just needs to get his fitness up to 100%. Being decisive needs to become the norm for him, and how far he goes in his career will then depend entirely on him. "Como was an important game to stay in touch with the leaders, especially with three away matches coming up after Lecce. We knew it would be tough - playing at Como always is. Both teams gave a good performance, though in different ways: we were helped by an outstanding display from Maignan and managed to come away with the win. They played well in the first half, while we improved after the break. I think talking about luck does a disservice to everyone working hard at AC Milan. Luck is part of life, but you have to go and make your own."
