The matchday 22 encounter between Roma and AC Milan finished 1-1 at the Olimpico on Sunday. It was a crucial point for the Rossoneri, in what was their fifth consecutive league game unbeaten. In the first half, as in the Coppa Italia v Napoli, Piatek found the back of the net. Meanwhile, Roma then equalised in the second half through Zaniolo. It was a hard-fought point for Coach Gattuso's side, who did well to hold on during repeated attacks from the Giallorossi throughout the 90 minutes. Donnarumma's contribution was key to the final scoreline, as he shone especially during the first half. Piatek was also impressive during his first Serie A appearance from the start in a Milan shirt, as he scored a decisive goal from his only opportunity. As for Paquetá, he continued his development for the Rossoneri, initially assisting the Polish striker's goal before then also putting in a performance full of both substance and quality. Rino Gattuso can look to the future with confidence, particularly considering Milan's lofty league position. This latest point now leaves the Diavolo with just a four-point gap to third.

THE REPORT
It was an attacking start from Roma, with Pellegrini firing in a right-footed strike that was blocked well by Rodriguez in the sixth minute. However, with their well-structured and patient system, Milan's plan paid dividends come the 26th minute, as Piatek put the visitors in front. The move started through persistence from Paquetá out wide, who then put in an enticing cross for Piatek to fire home. The Giallorossi's response was immediate, with an effort from Zaniolo being kept out well by Donnarumma. Gigio was then on hand once again in the 44th minute, as he produced a magnificent double save to stop Schick's header before then also blocking Dzeko's follow-up. Following the interval, the hosts grabbed their equaliser in the first minute of the second half through Zaniolo. Donnarumma was then called into action once again in the 71st minute, as he parried away a header from Dzeko. As the game entered its latter stages, both teams pressed hard in search of all three points. Roma first went extremely close through Pellegrini's effort that struck the post, while the game's final chance fell to Laxalt who was denied by Olsen.
