AC Milan recorded their third successive win in the league after beating Frosinone at San Siro thanks to goals from Krzysztof Piatek and Suso. Gigio Donnarumma's penalty save at the beginning of the second half played a crucial part in securing the win, with Camillo Ciano being denied from twelve yards. From that moment onwards, another AC Milan side was on display out on the pitch: the Rossoneri played more freely and were more decisive. Just three minutes separated Gigio's save and Piatek's opener, with the Polish striker finding the back of the net for the first time in 564 minutes. And things only got better for the Diavolo as Suso doubled their lead with 66 minutes on the clock. AC Milan now sit on 65 points in the league with just one fixture remaining. To cap things off, there was a wonderful standing ovation given to Ignazio Abate by the whole stadium at the end. The Rossoneri remain in contention for the Champions League and will play their final fixture of the season on Sunday in Ferrara against SPAL.

AC Milan, who lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, came close in the tenth minute, but Fabio Borini's shot from just inside the box was blocked by the Frosinone defence. The same player threatened again after 23 minutes, but he couldn't quite get on the end of Suso's vicious cross. On the half-hour mark, Tiemoué Bakayoko fired inches wide with a left-footed volley as the Rossoneri continued to search for the opener. Seven minutes later, Paolo Sammarco's shot was well off target after a mistake by Franck Kessie at the back. Immediately after the break, Gattuso’s side had a great chance to take the lead, but Borini couldn’t keep the ball down after the ball had fallen kindly to him. Following this, Frosinone were awarded a penalty after Ignazio Abate was penalised for a foul on Luca Paganini in the box with 48 minutes on the clock. However, Gigio Donnarumma came to the rescue as he dived to his left to keep out Camillo Ciano’s spot-kick. Shortly afterwards, Borini met the ball at the far post but was unable to direct the ball on target with his head following another Suso cross. In the 57th minute, the Rossoneri took the lead as Piatek showed great striker’s instinct to turn home Borini’s miscued effort at goal. With 66 minutes on the clock, Suso curled a fantastic free kick over the wall and into the back of the net via the underside of the bar to make it 2-0. The same player raced away down the right shortly afterwards and looked to find Piatek in the middle, but the Frosinone defence just got to the ball first. Frosinone looked to get back into the match in the closing stages, but Donnarumma produced another fantastic save to keep out Federico Dionisi's powerful left-footed strike.
