SERIE A 2024/25: SANDWICHING THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Getting to know the schedule for the upcoming Serie A season allows us to turn our heads towards the UEFA Champions League 2024/25. It's a special season since there will be a historic change in the format of the European competition: no more group stage, but a league phase with eight fixtures to decide which of the 24 participating sides go through to the knockout rounds. The top eight sides will qualify automatically for the round of 16 and another 16 sides will compete in play-off games for the other spots.
We will find out our European opposition on 29 August, but in the meantime, we know which league games will sandwich the Champions League midweek fixtures. From newly-promoted Venezia at San Siro ahead of the debut game to both derbies with Inter coming after a European night (matchday 2 and matchday 8).
