    ROSSONERI DEFEAT GENOA ON MD37

    Serie AMay 17th 2026

With little excitement and no goals, the big game at San Siro did not live up to the expectations of yesterday and inevitably led to a 0-0 result. AC Milan and Juventus drew on a chilly November evening devoid of any spectacle. Probably, the desire not to lose reigned supreme, as one mistake could have cost dearly. The attack was missing, the players who had more lisence to break things down, leaving us with a very conservative game. Coach Fonseca’s side put in a subpar performance, struggling to technically or tactically challenge the Bianconeri. We needed more conviction and to apply more pressure.

Returning from the international break brought its own usual uncertainties which, in part, had an effect. The draw (second on the bounce), and the point (by keeping a clean sheet), are important in their own way given it was a delicate, direct clash, though we are left with a bitter taste in our mouths as the Diavolo need to gain ground in the table and this was a good chance. After matchday 13 of the league, we have 19 points. It’s a small step in the table which needs to be improved and soon. Next, it’ll be the Champions League on Tuesday 26 November at 18:45 CET as we face an away day in Bratislava that we must get right to consolidate ourselves in Europe and relaunch ourselves ahead of Empoli.

    MATCH REPORT
There was much focus and order as the game began with the first threats coming from Juventus: in the 7th minute, Hernández shut down Conceição following the cross from Cambiaso. In the 10th minute, Koopmeiners unleashed a powerful but imprecise shot. In the 16th minute, Gatti had a go but it was too easy for Maignan. Things progressed very slowly with Musah and Yıldız both placing over-ambitious balls. The only real chance came for the visitors as in the 23rd minute, Yıldız freed himself up to get the shot away. It was stop-start for long stretches and AC Milan did not manage to attack until the 38th minute when Morata tried to guide the ball in but his header was too weak. In the time added on, we had a chance from a corner as E. Royal went skywards but failed to head home.

The Rossoneri showed some signs of attackinig at the start of the second half, even if Thiaw had to make a key intervention in the 50th minute on Cambiaso. Slowly, the sides started to grow into the game with more speed and spaces: in the 63rd minute, Thuram shot and Maignan saved. In the 65th minute, Hernández took a short free kick for Reijnders to get the shot away. The moment of dynamism didn't last long as the game fell back into monotonty even with substitutions. Only one attempt from Fofana who shot high in the 81st minute. Not even the final moments brought us something different: right at the end, Hernández had a go on a ball from Chukwueze but Di Gregorio blocked it. Full-time.
