AC Milan suffered a 4-2 defeat to Bologna at San Siro on Serie A Matchday 9. Palladino's side handed the Rossoneri their first league defeat of the season, ending a run of two consecutive victories. Until tonight, AC Milan had also won every home game in Serie A. After conceding an early opener, the hosts responded with determination and turned the game around thanks to a brace from Cisse, one of the positives on an otherwise disappointing evening. However, Bologna struck three times in the second half to secure all three points.
A setback for Amorim's side, who must take the positives from this performance and quickly turn their attention to the challenges ahead. The Derby di Milano against Inter comes up Saturday, October 31st, followed by a UEFA Europa League clash with Ferencváros and a league trip to Genoa, all within a week. A demanding run of fixtures awaits a squad already dealing with several absences. Tonight, Tomori was also forced off at halftime after picking up an injury late in the first half.

MATCH REPORT
Following the convincing victory in Udine, the Rossoneri stuck with their 4-4-1-1 formation, with Estupiñan, Musah and Cisse coming into the lineup. The game got off to a frantic start, with two goals in the opening 15 minutes and a third before the half-hour mark. Bologna took the lead in the eighth minute through Mbangula, who scored his first goal for the Rossoblù. AC Milan responded immediately, with Cisse leading the charge. The equalizer came in the 14th minute after Hutchinson won possession high up the field and picked out Alfa, who found himself one-on-one with Skorupski and made no mistake. In the 27th minute, Tomori collected the ball following another attacking move involving Hutchinson and delivered a driven cross for Cisse. The forward stretched to meet it and scored his fourth league goal of the season to put AC Milan 2-1 ahead. Before halftime, Jashari also tried his luck from distance, but his effort drifted narrowly wide.
Bologna came out strongly after the break, pushing forward in search of an equalizer. After several missed opportunities, Miranda's introduction made an immediate impact. In the 60th minute, his free-kick delivery was inadvertently turned into his own net by Bartesaghi. Just 60 seconds later, Miranda provided the assist for Mbangula to score his second and put Bologna 3-2 ahead. The Rossoneri introduced Camarda alongside Ramos in an attempt to get back into the game. The young striker quickly found himself in a promising position but sent his header narrowly wide, missing the chance to make it 3-3. AC Milan continued to push forward in the closing stages, leaving space for Bologna to exploit on the counterattack. The visitors took full advantage, with Odgaard setting up Mbangula to complete his hat-trick and seal the 4-2 final score.
