The first half began with AC Milan immediately taking control of the game, setting the pace. In the 19th minute, the Rossoneri took the lead through Morata, who capitalised on an assist from Emerson Royal to score with a precise right-footed shot. Empoli tried to respond, but AC Milan's defence proved solid, with Thiaw and Gabbia closing down spaces effectively. In the 25th minute, Gabbia received a booking for a foul, but AC Milan continued to press forward. In the 35th minute, Empoli's Colombo was booked for time-wasting.
