    ROSSONERI DEFEAT GENOA ON MD37

    Serie AMay 17th 2026

AC Milan fell to defeat at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo during matchday 15 of Serie A 2024/2025, with Atalanta running out 2-1 winners. The match was intense and fiercely contested, with the home side taking the lead in the 12th minute through a header by Charles De Ketelaere. The Rossoneri responded in the 22nd minute through Álvaro Morata, who finished off an assist from Rafael Leão. However, in the closing stages, Ademola Lookman scored the decisive goal for Atalanta. This result leaves AC Milan in seventh place in the standings with 22 points, while Atalanta go top on 34 points.

Despite the defeat, AC Milan showed character and determination. Paulo Fonseca set up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, aiming to exploit Leão's speed and Morata's precision. An injury to Christian Pulisic in the 38th minute forced the coach to bring on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who added solidity to the midfield. In the second half, the Rossoneri tried to maintain possession and create chances, but Atalanta defended resolutely. The introduction of Tammy Abraham in the 78th minute brought fresh energy to the attack, but it wasn't enough to turn it around. Despite the disappointment, the Rossoneri must look forward with confidence and continue to work hard ahead of their upcoming matches against Crvena Zvezda and Genoa. Forza Milan!
