DEFEAT AT SAN SIRO: AC MILAN 1‑2 LAZIO

AC Milan fell to a 2-1 defeat to Lazio at San Siro on Serie A matchday 27. The game was an even one from the beginning, but the guests took a 28th-minute lead through Zaccagni. The Rossoneri fought to get themselves level and did so in the 85th minute through Chukwueze – Leão assist. But Pedro’s penalty at the death saw the Biancocelesti claim the spoils. This result leaves AC Milan in ninth place in the table on 41 points.
Despite the defeat, the Rossoneri showed determination and spirit. The result was certainly influenced by the red card shown to Pavlović in the 67th minute, which complicated like for Conceição’s side. The team tried to gain control of the game, but the guests’ numerical superiority was telling in the crucial moments. A tough run and a downbeat mood, but we cannot give up and we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and be determined going into our coming matches.

The first half got rapidly underway as Maignan was called into action in th 3rd minute to deny Tchaouna. In the 28th minute, Lazio took the lead through Zaccagni, assisted by Tchaouna, as he beat Maignan from an impressive distance. AC Milan tried to react but struggled to get into space past the opposition defence. In the 37th minute, Musah was replaced by Félix to shake up the Rossoneri attack. Despite attempts from João and Pavlović, Lazio went into the break ahead having almost doubled the lead through Zaccagni.
In the second half, AC Milan tried to up the pressure with Félix and Gimenez threatening after Zaccagni had a chance, but Pavlović’s sending off in the 67th minute complicated matters. Lazio tried to make the most of the numerical advantage but the Rossoneri did not lie down and in the 84th minute, went level with a header from Chukwueze on a cross from Leão. The Diavolo also tried to win it, wasting a couple of counters just like the Biancocelesti. In the final moments, Maignan fouled Isaksen in the box and Lazio were awarded a penalty after a VAR check, Pedro converted in the 98th minute.
